This is a big shit.
I bought a BT dongle from LogiLink. It has been shipped with BlueSoleil 5.x, which is buggy, very slow (needs more resources than the MS BT dongle) and lacks of functionality (e.g. security), which is standard for other products and FREE (when you buy the hardware.

I am really unhappy how BlueSoleil keeps registering online. I use a bluetooth keyboard and it somehow disrupts at times how it works. Then I have to plug in a wired keyboard and a wired mouse because even with a wired mouse and keyboard I cannot get the wireless to restart until I reboot.
I am really unhappy about the re-registering online. I paid good money for this program, I don't understand why it has to go online many times to activate!
If I had known this I would have looked at other options.

Recently I purchased a nano bluetooth dongle (dick smith home brand) from a dick smith store in australia which came with the blue soleil software setup disc, I ran it fine and activation no problem (didn't ask for a serial code as there was none in the box anyways).
I had a pop up saying there's new software upgrade available and to follow the link from 6 to 8. So, I clicked on it and followed the instructions.... now it's saying it's expired and wants a serial code... how do I get this if your site states users of 6 can have a free upgrade to 8. Or do I rip off 8 and just run the disc again and stay with 6?

Thanks for wanting to help - however the problem is that when downloading the new BlueSoleil, it asks for a serial code, BUT for those that wrote above, the key was 'in' the installation of BlueSoleil 6, and thus you can't "activate" BlueSoleil 8 in any way at all, unless you change how the program handles previous/existing (and activated) installations.
Um, I need to explain better I guess...
BlueSoleil 6 users can't "upgrade for free" to BlueSoleil 8, the program simply doesn't allow for that...
BlueSoleil 8 can ONLY be activated with an actual written serial code, but most users got the BlueSoleil with a dongle, thus they did NOT get a serial code, but it's just activated to start with.
(sorry to repeat myself, but it's just to ensure it's understood...)
So they can't "activate" BlueSoleil 8, because it can ONLY be activated with a serial code - and most people installed BlueSoleil 6 WITHOUT a code, because it came as "already activated" with the dongle they bought.
Sorry for the trouble BlueSoleil_Support, 'version8' just cannot be "activated" using the "same method" of activation as in 'version6', [not in this case].

I have exactly the same problem as darkcat and the above responses are not at all helpful in resolving the problem - version 6 is automatic and version 8 requires a serial code which is not provided. I have unistalled the whole lot and reinstalled from the disc for now but this is not a good outcome.

how do I activate version8 when version6 was activated automatically for me by use of a setup disc that came with my nano bluetooth dongle? All I did was click ok, finish and launch.

Apple magic mouse seems to be only partially supported. Pointing and click works but not scrolling nor any touch gestures. (it does however works in the same computer with generic bluetooth drivers, but only after uninstalling bluesoleil.
Broadcom Built in Bluetooth module, Windows 7 x64 SP1, Apple Magic Mouse A1296.

I've bought 3 USB Bluetooth Sticks at Amazon last week. They comes with a green CD, Q:ITV6.2 is pressed in the back inner margin. I installed it just out of the CD without needing any codes and it works fine with my "logitech wireless speaker adapter bluetooth", till i start a mmog :(
Then bluetooth crashes. Want try to update Bluesoleil like described on your side, but the new version is asking for a code i dont get. , and even dont need to install v.6.2. So what ?
What do you mean with " you can activate v8 with the same way you activated v6 before" u wrote a thread earlier?

My device came with a version 6 cd which does not work with 64-bit windows 7. I have tried downloading version 8 but it is asking me for a serial number. Please advise on how to make it work. This is getting extremely frustrating.

I cannot even install it much less activate or upgrade it. It just produces an error message while installing (error 183).
