Can anyone from Bluesoleil please advice on how to migrate from version 6.2 to 8 of dongle driver software - we have no keys associated to the product bought and version 6.2 fail to install on Windows 7 x64 bit platform.

Dear, you can send an Email to support@bluesoleil.com with your Dongle MAC adress and questions if it is inconvenient. Some screenshots will be appreciated. You should clear the installation record if you want a new installation. Best Regards.

How would you like for me to provide you the Dongle MAC adress - I have two dongles of which only one has been unpacked as of now?

Do I send it in a mail to you or should I expose it here on the web?

I have managed to install the Dongle software in a Windows XP x32 bit and there it shows up the vendor part as being: 00:19:86 and the software supplied on the CD for the product is IVT BlueSoleil version 6.2.227.10 (C) 2007 and a reference to http://www.bluesoleil.com.

Please advise on how to proceed in order to get acces to a version 6 or version 8 able to install into Windows 7 x64 bit.

Hi, would you please tell me where you got the BlueSoleil version6? Our BlueSoleil6 which are downloaded from our website can install on Windows7  64bit platform fine.
You know, we are a software company, everybody can free download BlueSoleil software and sale with their hardware (dongle) after carved into a CD. We never send a CD of BlueSoleil to our users. So you should contact your retailer firstly.
Please right click the Bluetooth icon in your system tray --> My Equipment Attribute --> Hardware, send the device address to us. We’ll confirm that if the dongle is ours and if you are a genuine user of version6. Thank you

By the way,

I would assume that BlueSoleil Support would know for sure if the version 6 of your software/driver is able to or not to install on x64 bit Windows 7.

You dont sound like having done any investigation into this matter. Does the version allow for installing into Windows 7 x64 bit or not?

The package specification claims that the dongle is Windows 7 Compatible - not specifically x32 bit or x64 but generally Windows 7 Compatible. As such I take that the Dongle will be able to install on all Windows 7 editions. If not compatible with x64 bit the decleration should state so. The retailler has no serial keys associated with the product - it contains only the dongle and the install CD version 6.

I have purchased two dongles - one for use at home and one for use at work - I guess that I have to trash the dongles and not buy any of your products in the future :-(

Bad product specification from BlueSoleil side I guess.

Dear MGronbak, we promised all of our users can upgrade freely from version6 to version8 . The upgrade policy as follows:
If you bought a serial number or a dongle from our website at the outset,  you can have free access to the latest version, you just need to do is simply download and install the software accordingly, activate it with your SN or dongle;
If you bought a dongle with a BlueSoleil6 software CD from one retailer, you should ask your retailer if the dongle including the license for activating version8 first, if yes, you just need to insert your dongle, BlueSoleil8 will be activated. Thanks
