BlueSoleil for Linux has the classic BlueSoleil user interface that BlueSoleil 6 and BlueSoleil 5 for XP/Vista have already applied. On the basic of classic BlueSoleil user interface, BlueSoleil for Linux improves many user interface elements to make BlueSoleil GUI more intuitive, and easy-to-use.

BlueSoleil for Linux supports multiple Linux distribution versions like Xandros, Ubuntu, Debian,Moblin, and can easily be migrated to other Linux distribution versions.

BlueSoleil classic interface presents users the Bluetooth connection environment in an intuitive "Bluetooth space / orbit + Soleil (the sun)" graphical user interface. Within this intuitive environment, users can easily click "My local Soleil" device to start to search other surrounding Bluetooth device, which are shown on the orbit. Bluetooth connection can be setup by simply clicking the other Bluetooth device icon. You can enjoy all the Bluetooth functions in one graphical user interface.

They have not thought of updating the application???
Right now Ubuntu has a shop applications. They could update their software and publish it in this way.

is there any bt kernel modules source?

i can't insmod the kernel modules which bluesoleil support with others linux dist(eg: meego os or ubuntu 10.10).

Hello there.

I wanna make a notice upon BlueSoleil Linux/Ubuntu packages. Although your software is really helpful for Linux users, I have a negative remark, that you don't provide us with the kernel modules sources of your BT drivers, as i.e. VMware, Acronis, Avira, AVG, or other non-free software authors doing. They provide users with the sources of their modules because there runs various versions and flavors of Linux kernels. So they shouldn't build module objects for every kernel version/flavor on which their product will run.

In the other hand - if you wouldn't release the source for these modules - another solution to this is to build binary packages for all these kernel versions/flavors, and keeping close with kernel versions/distributions/flavors changes in a well structured repository. I think that this solution is far most costly for you,... thus:

How about to have separate kernel modules sources package for BlueSoleil BT modules? Can we hope that we get them  (not the BlueSoleil application's source itself, just the modules, to make them useable for every possible running kernel)?

First of all there is no 64-bit (amd64) build, which is disappointing since I have to force the i386 install. Secondly, it installs in /opt not in /usr ignoring hierarcy. It depends on static Qt libs rather that those in /usr/lib. And the worst of all is that it depends on a single, outdated kernel, which I am not sure still exists in the repositories.

Is there any new version one to be installed FC12(kernel 2.6.32) or Ubuntu 10.10(2.6.32/2.6.35) ?

I wanna try different bluetooth profile,such as A2DP,
