Summary:winner

With over 52,000 steps taken, I thought surely I had accumulated the most steps in Vegas at theConsumer Electronics Show (my feet were killing me in the end). As it turns out, there was one Step it Up challenger who took this competition a few steps (pun intended) further than yours truly.

With a whopping 63,196 steps taken at CES, I’m proud to announce that Michael Reyes, Editor in Chief of Hardware Geeks is the winner of the Bluetooth SIG Step it Up at CES Tech Blogger Challenge.

Michael Reyes

With the help of Bluetooth technology, Michael was able to track his steps in real-time after linking his BodyMedia FIT Armband BW to his smartphone. By logging over 60,000 steps, he beat out 11 other participants for the title of the most active tech blogger at CES. I actually ran into Michael at the Bluetooth SIG booth at the Digital Health Summit. It was the third day into the show and he had his armband strapped on tight, working to get every step in. It paid off – congratulations, Michael! I’m sure your fellow bloggers are proud – and perhaps a little jealous - of your achievement.By winning the challenge, not only has Michael been crowned the most active tech blogger at CES, he has received an open invite to the Bluetooth SIG demo lab in Kirkland, Wash., where he can get a first-hand glimpse of a variety of Bluetooth enabled devices that utilize different applications of the technology. He’ll also receive a BodyMedia FIT Armband BW to give to one of his readers.

We’d like to thank all of the technology bloggers who participated in the challenge. Between swerving through booths and racing to make different appointments at CES, I had a pretty good time tracking my steps and we hope they did too. This challenge was our way of giving our loyal Bluetooth followers insight into the role that wireless technology plays and will continue to play in the health and fitness arena. By tracking and monitoring activity and health levels in real-time via Bluetooth technology, you’re able to make adjustments that could save your life – or win our Step it Up Challenge.
