I am the developer of software known as PV Bean Counter (open source). One of its functions involves accessing a Photo Voltaic Inverter via Bluetooth to retrieve energy data. It does this from a Windows Service, usually under the "Local Service" account.
On some Bluetooth hardware (including Blue Soleil) the access works when logged in directly as a Windows user but any attempt to access Bluetooth from the windows service fails. It appears to me that there is probably some security barrier causing this failure.
I am hoping that developers with Bluetooth expertise may be able to offer some advice. Any assistance would be gratefully received.
