Explanation on Unlicensed Device Warning

Due to some customers' recent confusing about the popping up notification of unlicensed device in BlueSoleil, some information is provided here to help straight the situation

For BlueSoleil 2 to 5, the issue is normally caused by the duplication of Bluetooth Address and License Key or by missing the license key from the dongle manufactures.

For BlueSoleil 8, serial number is necessary for the activation. If you reinstall your operating system, you need to re-activate the BlueSoleil once more with the same serial number.

A product package is composed of a dongle with BlueSoleil software generally. IVT releases software and license keys to dongle makers in BlueSoleil 7 to 8. Each key matches with one unique Bluetooth address according to the rules of IEEE, because Bluetooth address is the unique ID for each dongle globally. Dongle makers burn the keys into each dongle, and make the packages. During the initialization of the software, BlueSoleil needs to check whether the license of the dongle is legal or not.

BlueSoleil 8 is activated by bundling Serial Number with PC. No matter what dongle is used, as long as the dongle is supported by BlueSoleil 8 (which can be checked out by Hardware Check Tool), the activated BlueSoleil can be used without limitation. Please note that each serial number is possible to be applied to one PC only.

The prompt of failure to activate is following:
(1)Please make sure the serial number is correct.
This is because your SN is not available and you should buy a lawful one to use it. Please click here to purchase it online.

(2)This Serial number had reached the upper activation limitation, so BlueSoleil cannot be activated successfully.
It means you have activated more than one computer with the same SN. Please consult Clear Activated Record in 'My BlueSoleil' to see how to use BlueSoleil on other computers normally or you can buy another SN here.

(3)Please make sure that your serial number supports all features of your BlueSoleil.
Your SN doesn’t match the installed version, please make them consistent.
Firstly, you should check the version of BlueSoleil in the email we had sent you with the SN. And then compare it with the local version.
The method for viewing local version: Right click BlueSoleil Tray at the right corner -> Click 'Display Class View' -> Click 'Help' -> Click 'About BlueSoleil'

(4)There is no serial number. Please register it.
Please click here to purchase an available SN online.

(5)Please make sure your computer is connected to Internet and BlueSoleil is allowed to access Internet.
Please confirm the computer can access to Internet and add BlueSoleilCS.exe to the white list of network firewall.

(6)Your activation period has expired. Please check your system time then activate BlueSoleil again.
Please make sure your local system time is correct.

(7)An exception occurs during activation. Please click here to get help.
Please make sure your PC has full access to Internet and reboot PC to reactivate BlueSoleil.

BlueSoleil will work in 2MB limitation mode only.

IVT is working on reducing the unauthorized duplicates in the market to provide better service to end users.

It is highly suggested that users use the latest version, with your computer connected with internet. Thank you for your support, and there is a good news for all of our members that BlueSoleil 5 users can upgrade to BlueSoleil 7 for free, and BlueSoleil 6 users can upgrade to BlueSoleil 8 for free, but the users with the version below 5 have to buy the latest version.

Three suggestions are recommended to check the license.

  • Check the BlueSoleil version. You have to see whether the version is above 2 (include the version 2) or not. BlueSoleil 2 and above have used anti-pirate technique inside to check whether the dongle you bought is a licensed one;
  • Use the online activation system for verification;
  • Check the vendor where you bought the dongle or Serial Number to make sure it is working with BlueSoleil or other licensed Bluetooth software;
